Kamran Rasul | The Dental Clinic is a single-site private practice in Liverpool city centre, purpose-built and equipped from new for its 2022 opening and registered with the Care Quality Commission that July. What separates it from the group-owned surgeries nearby is who founded it: not a dentist-proprietor but a dental therapist and hygienist. Kamran Rasul qualified at the University of Manchester in 2006, was named Dental Therapist of the Year at the 2014 Dental Awards, and still treats patients himself.

Treatments and services

Cosmetic work carries the diary: composite bonding sculpted by hand over the enamel without drilling into healthy tooth, composite and porcelain veneers, crowns, whitening, and Spark clear aligners planned from a 3D digital scan. Alongside sit examinations, hygiene, white fillings, root canal treatment, extractions, dentures, implants and full-mouth smile makeovers. The declared ethos is preventive: least invasive restoration first, and coaching on home care.

Independent practices this size normally refer complicated cases out; this one recruited for them. Dr Muhamad Gamal holds an MClinDent in prosthodontics and carries restorative and full-mouth rehabilitation. Dr Mutaz Ahmed is the endodontist patients single out for root canals. Yasin Lulat is a dentist and oral surgeon for surgical extractions and implant placement. Around them work general dentists, therapists Tim Forshaw and Ella Hughes, hygienists and nurses, all GDC-registered. No referral is needed to join, and other dentists send cases here.

Entry is step-free, with an accessible toilet and a ground-floor treatment room — which matters where many surgeries sit up a staircase.
