This page explains how to pay on buses in Liverpool, which tickets and passes are available and who travels free or at a reduced fare. It applies to every route in the city.
How to pay
Single fares can be paid in cash, by card or contactless. Arriva’s Tap and Go caps single, day and weekly fares within the Liverpool City Region, for adults only. The MetroCard has replaced the Walrus card.
Tickets and passes
The Solo ticket is valid on buses of the participating operators, and Trio combines bus, train and ferry. MyTicket is a day ticket for under-19s on all buses.
Who travels free or at a reduced fare
Children under 5 travel free. The over-60s Liverpool City Region pass covers bus, train and ferry, except journeys starting between 6:30 and 9:30 on weekdays, and the disabled person’s pass covers buses, Merseyrail and the ferry.
